I found an old acoustic in my basement a while back. It was a Madeira A-5 and I wondered where it came from. I asked my dad and he told me that about 30 years ago, my great-aunt left her family without notice for 7 years to follow Bob Dylan around the world and came back with this guitar she said she got from him after a concert in New York. I was wondering if anyone knows if Bob Dylan used one of these guitars. Im sure its not worth anything at all because the neck snapped and was repaired by my father (let’s just say he isnt exactly a luthier). Id love to get it near-playable again. any help’s appriciated, thanks!
Please help!!!Husband ‘s b-day oct.26, been trying to find this for a month, can you help!!!Genuine woodie guitar stand. Please help. Thanks Ellen
I used to own a Guild S-250, which was stolen after I played a frat party in Madison, Wisconsin (along with our PA amp/mixer). I think it must have been a late 70’s early 80’s model, a burgundy red color with what looked like P-90’s. I think it was a great guitar, but not worth much. I bought it for about $150. If anyone knows about one for sale, let me know. I want to recreate my old sound since it was so popular (ha ha).
I have one I want to sell .. anyone know the value?

A buddy of mine got $250 for his A20, though it was in excellent condition. The Madeira was Guild’s less expensive brand made in Japan.

Guitar is in nice shape. Early Japan model. Solid spruce top. Recently refurbished: new bridge; new Ball strings; polished frets and set up by an expert. In perfect playing condition. Northern New Jersey location. Shipping would probably cost around $50

I have a Guild Madeira P500 acoustic guitar that I want to sell. I bought it for my wife but she never learned to play. It’s in perfect condition other than a corner of the clear plastic pick guard has been chipped off – no damage to the body of the guitar though. It comes with a velvet (?) lined hardshell case. If anyone is interested, email me at [email protected].
I would like to buy a used guild in decent shape. Please contact me if you have one you’d like to sell. Thanks.

I am the proud owner of a Guild D26. It was born in 1994 or ’95. The serial # is: AD260244. I believe only 500 or so were made. It comes from the Westerly, RI factory. I am curious as to its value. If you have any info I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I have a faded cherry double cut away madeira(i do not know the model), with one original p-90 or p-100 in the neck and a i think gibson 500 humbucker in the bridge, and i also replace original tuners and replaced the pickguard (the original was half missing when i got it). the body has some knicks and dents and the neck has a wood blemish, but it doesn’t effect sound of the guitar at all. lets just say this guitar was gigged alot before i owned it, but i cannot stress how wonderful this guitar sounds. Im willing to sell this fairly cheap
IF ANYONE IS INTRESTED OR WOULD LIKE MORE INFO ON THE GUITAR E-MAIL me at [email protected]

Does anyone know how much a guild madeira A-5 is worth? The year is unknown.
Any info on this electric guitar will be appreciated!
There are no other identifying marks. The "madeira" label is under the tuning knobs in gold letters. It is a rich dark wood color with a lighter neck.

I would like to see a picture of it, since I own one too, but apparently it was made by the same guild madeira, the former luthier of of epiphone, fender and i don’t know who else more. mine has also dual hum buckers, one tone, one treble and a phaser. the neck is only one wood piece. right now I’m trying to restore it and i hope to upload some pictures. good luck with your heritage.
I will soon take posession of an electric guitar previously owned by my deceased brother. It’s an electric solid body, dual pickups, purchased new in ’70-’72. Is this the same "madeira" people who made acoustics for Guild? Or do I maybe have the name wrong. I have not been able to find any info on electric guitars by "madeira". Thanks.

: I’ve been playing my Guild F30 NT since I purchased it in 1970 (or 71). What’s the difference between the F30 and the F30 NT? What does NT stand for?
THE "NT" STANDS FOR "NATURAL TONE" FINISH. THIS INDICATES THAT THE SPRUCE FRONT IS NOT STAINED OR OTHERWISE COLORED. AS SUCH, THE INSTRUMENT STARTS OFF A LIGHT PINE COLOR AND MATURES INTO A WARM HONEY COLOR OVER THE YEARS. I BOUGHT MINE IN 1968 FOR $120 AT SAM ASH. OVER THE LAST HALF CENTURY THE WOOD HAS SPLIT IN A FEW PLACES BUT OTHERWISE SOUNDS BEAUTIFUL.
: I’ve been playing my Guild F30 NT since I purchased it in 1970 (or 71). What’s the difference between the F30 and the F30 NT? What does NT stand for?
I believe NT stands for Natural Top (spruce, I think). Natural top refers to the finish. It means blond, or unstained; not sunburst or colored.

The NT stands for "natural top" It means is is not a sunburst because it although rare, it was an option. How much?

Coincidence! I’ve just traded my 1979 F30 to my Fender dealer for other things. I thought they were all & same and believe NT stands for "natural top". Tops wer solid spruce. The back & sides had mahogany stain finish.

I have a guild mark 7 classical that I bought in 1772. It is a beautifuly made custom guitar and I would like to know if anyone has any idea what it would be worth today.
I bought my guitar new in 1972. It is a Guild Mark 7 custom classical guitar. It was the best classical guild made at the time. It is in very good condition and I was wondering what it would be worth today. I have the original paperwork, catalog, illustrations, tag, and hardshell custom case that came with it. If anyone out there has any ideas about this guitar please respond. Thank you, Richard Dalton
I think you may have your date wrong but having the original paper work, case and so on will ad to value. Have you tried searching for one for sale ?
: I may be interested in purchasing the guitar or trading another guitar for it.
Sure would love to see a picture of it, always wanted a Mark 7 ,and let me know if your ever interested in selling your Guild !

How much are you asking for th Guild s4ce?
Hi Kate,
Odd as it seems, almost the whole history if Guild and their guitars is on the Fender web site. You just have to dig a bit. I found my 1988 Songbird listed and it even give a price range for your models if your buying or selling.
I hope everything was there in the case when you bought it. Mine came with the Owners Manual, Warranty & Registration. Towards the back of the book they talk about what type of strings to use and gauges.
Hope that helps you out
Larry

I am currently selling this brilliant blue songbird- it is mint, complete with the plastic film over the pickguard. All the original documents and key are still in the original case. Please contact me if you are interested: Tiffany (310) 909-9038.
Learned about this on Guitar site- Tell me about your brilliant blue songbird- thank you very much
HI
I’ve just bought a guild songbird-nt (s/n kk001428) and a s4ce-nt (s/n kk002166) they are essentially the same guitar – but the s4ce has a duller natural rubbed finish and is slightly heavier. The songbird has a shinier finish and has a piece of plastic on the back which unscrews to reveal the battery compartment for the pickup, the s4ce doesn’t have this & the battery is found just above the soundhole.
Could anyone give me any more info on these two guitars – i.e. what dates did guild make them and for how long.. roughly what they’re worth and any other technical info or history would be much appreciated as I’m finding it very hard to obtain any useful stuff at all !
I will probably sell one of these as it seems silly to ahve two guitars the same.. but I fell in love with their petite feel and butter like action and given the opportunity to buy a second relatively cheaply.. I jumped at the chance!
Best Wishes
Kate Blundell

I have a Madeira purchased in late 60’s. The guitar is in excellent shape, but doesn’t have the label inside.
Is there any sort of catalog out there that I can match my guitar to in order to find out the model #?

Looking for info on my Model A-5. Perfect Mint condition as it was sored away for around 25+ years in its case. The climate it was stored in was ideal humidity and temp as the neck is perfectly straight and the body is not swelled or shrunken. Not a crack, scratch or ding!
Can anyone help me in placing a value on this baby?
Thank you!
Anyone got one of these? I have never seen another and would like to know the value. I have never heard a guitar like it, the tone is outstanding. If anyone sees one for sale…Buy It!

Hi … I just got one of these guitars from some one who could not pay rent. [P-812] I was wondering if you have found out anything yet? This thing is beautiful and in great shape. Would appreciate any info!
I might be interested in purchase. They go on e-bay for around 200 or so, depending on the shape. Contact me.
hey, i was just wondering if anyone here would know how i can verify my fender isnt a fake. i got it 2nd hand, so i didnt get any papers or anything. the serial number is e9 + 5 digits, and i pulled it apart and it has a stamp on the butt of the neck (where the neck joins to the body) that says "j.urbie, june 19th, 1990". do all fenders have stamps in this position? i bought it for $2000 (australian dollar) and i had it valued at another music shop and the guy told me its only worth $600. (its a USA model). so now im kinda confused as to how much its really worth, if ive been ripped off, and if it will increase in value or not.
thanks, stacki
If it is marked made in usa…the general serial number you provided places that guitar at 1989 or 1990, at the Corona US plant. The date on the pots seem to fit… so without much other info… I would guess value at $1000…The telecasters are usually a sought after style.

I have a Madeira guitar model A-1 by Guild. I got it new in the 70’s. Any idea on the value? It was made in Korea and is in excellent shape.I never learned to play. 🙁
My neighbor has one. It is red and looks like a strat. What does yours look like?
is it the SG copy? two horn ends? please email me.
it is acoustic, it is from the early 70’s and its worth 250 to 300 dollars if it is in mint condition
Well, I’m trying to clarify something. There’s been an A-2 in the family since it was purchased new in 1976 or 1977. I’ve got it, and I’m getting it back into shape, really just a gentle cleaning and strings required (and a few dampit sessions). BUT . . . what is this silly adjustable bridge deal? Is there a recommended was of cleaning this area up? It just doesn’t look well thought out. What does everybody think? Where would I find the serial number?
i bought it used in the mid-70s,trying find out more about about it still sounds great, nice action, dont want to sell it, just trying to find out more about it
