Kemper Profiling Amplifier Now Available

The Kemper Profiling Amplifier is now available in stores, this unique amp lets you capture digital profiles of your favorite amps and pack it in one lunchbox size kit.

Kemper Profiling Amplifier

This amp goes beyond the realm of amp modeling products - aside from providing the usual preloaded models, it claims to be able to "clone" your favorite amps - and do so in a few minutes!

Kemper GmbH has now made the Kempler Profiling Amplifier available in stores worldwide. And looking at YouTube videos, and guitar forums - we know that a lot of guitar players are sincerely interested and some even name the Kemper Profiling Amp as a serious contender to Fractal Audio's Axe FX.

When we last featured this unique amp, we only knew about its claim and not much more. But now, a number of "profiling" videos are already available online showcasing the Kemper Profiling Amplifier as it takes the digital profiles of popular amps like Soldano, Bogner, Matchless and many others. Here is a demo video of the actual profiling process as they profiled a Bogner:

Honestly speaking, the demos are really impressive and interesting, although I wish they showed off its dynamics some more. Still this "lunchbox looking amp" packs so much features and opens up even wider tonal variety. Imagine carrying all your boutique and classic tube amp collections on the road with you without the weight and hassles? If your gear is not enough, you can trade profiles with other players and build a huge library of guitar amps and tone - allowing you to break off from the current limitation of amp modeling gear.

There will be tone snobs that will say that it is lacking in the "bloom" and "oomph" department - but it can really pass off as the real thing in many practical cases, and with which many have been impressed. Sean Beavan a producer and mixer of popular acts like No Doubt or Marilyn Manson amongst others shared his experience on this video:

The Kempler Profiling Amplifier comes with 200 preinstalled profiles based on popular amplifiers and cabinets including favorites like Fender Twin Reverb, Vox AC30, Marshall JCM 800 and Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. They also profiled boutique amps like Fuchs ODS 30 and Diezel Einstein and many others.
