Made them for a couple of years in 70-71 ish….copy of the Fender 69 model. Ibanez called them 2368 and 2369 with single and humbucker pups if memory serves..exported under name of Antoria too…great guitars!

The Guitar has a c 84…. ser. no, and was sold to me in 84 as a prototype. I think about selling it now and it’s still in great shape and plays perfect. But i don’t know what it costs today. Back then I paid 1200.-CHF, like a 950$ today.
Today this kind of guitar is hard to find and costs a lot more.

Usually 3 single coils with a 5 way switch and a mini toggle switch for phase, non locking tremelo and one of the finest necks you will ever get to play short of custom shop guitar. Made at the same company as the fender japan guitars which sell very highly on Ebay. They evolved into the current RG series guitars. In mint condition they sell for 500 dollars or more which is a great deal if you can find one.
i have a green ibanez that originaly had 3 single coil pick ups on it, i customed it and it now has a seymour duncan pearly gates humbucker on the bridge. it also has string locks (not custom). i was woundering if anyone had the same type. beacause it seems like they made one that was different everytime. if you google the guitar, i have never found the same exact one. im just woundering if anyone knows how much they are worth in a good condition

I have the same model and have yet to see, or hear :), one like it anywhere. I think the fact that there is no publications on it, and its value, make it a collectible in some respects. I think Ibanez made very few of these, before they began having their guitars manufactured elsewhere. Does yours have the unfinished neck?

finished one piece maple neck and fretboard matching color headstock. you will not find many as they are over 25 years old. They have evolved into the current RG series as in Roadstar Guitar= RG.
I too have one. All black. It appears to have been bought b/w 1985-90. Its a stock version, with 3 single coil pick-ups, 3 volume and tone controls and a 3 way switch for the pick ups. It has a floating bridge, but the strings are not locked down. Havent been able to get much information from the net.

Hi. I’m looking for an Ibanez Silver Series Strat 2375 in great or better condition. Interested? Please email! [email protected]
I have one like the one on this page:
http://www.ibanezregister.com/Gallery/groups/kosaku%20nakamura.htm
He calls it a Vintage 60’s, Ibanez 884. Was this their 1st electric. It sure looks like it! My first guitar (1961) was an Ibanez acoustic, which looked like the acoustic equivalent of that electric, REALLY FUNKY, but the electric is actually a better ax, the 884 I have now is actually made well, just primitive! I’m selling it, but don’t know WHAT TO ASK? ANYONE SEEN ANY FOR SALE?

i would like to know if ibanez had an SG model, because as i far as i know ibanez had copied models from gibson such as flying v, les paul, so on……
I had a wine Ibanez SG I bought brand new in ’72. I liked it so much my next giutar was the real thing. It wasn’t even close to as nice playing or sounding as the Ibanez.
There were a number of different SG models made through the ’70’s. They were made in 2 and 3 pup versions inc. a Bigsby or Tuneomatic style bridges.

After all the talk about these lawsuit guitars ,the big thing about them too me is the fact that they are 25.5 in necks.they play like a strat !! I have a 1973 black les paul custom Ibanez and to me it`s better than a Gibson…
I have an Ibanez Custom Les Paul Copy (Super 70s) with serial number h771132. I got it back when I was about 14 yrs old in 1982/1983 from the original ower (I’m 43 now). I’m trying to determine the year it was made and what is estimated value is. I think it was made in 1977. Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Just picked it up the other day to play it and it sounded great…will never part with it! Thanks!

has anyone got a CSL LES PAUL RECORDING MODEL they want to sell? it was my first electric and i’d love to get one for old times sake.cheers.
I’m looking for cream or black pickup rings for bridge position humbuckers found on Icemans, Destroyers, Rocket Rolls, or any other flat top solid body from ’78-’85-ish. These were 1-13/16 inches wide, NOT 1-3/4 inches like all others, including current Ibanez pickup rings.
I’ve had absolutely no luck finding these, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Looking for 6 tuners for a 1978 Ibanez CN200 (they had stars on the back). Also a tailpiece for the same guitar.

I recently aquired a Ibanez Les paul copy from may of 1977. This this is as close to mint as you can get without being new. It is a dark burgandy with the pearl inlays on the neck but doesn’t have binding or inlays on the headstock although the body has a white binding. It also has an E/2 in an odd shape on the truss rod cover. The design of the cover is such that the top screw isn’t centered and there isn’t a screw hole in the center so I know it hasn’t been changed. The only other Guitar I have found that on was a 1982 Real Gibson Explorer. Anyone have any Ideas on what this is.
I recently got my hands on a 1977 custom with a boly on neck, while identifying the neck as ibanez is no problem I have my concerns about the body. It is very light, has a flat back without a contour as I’ve seen on other ‘bez les paul copies and appears to have some shoddy workman ship in regards to the neck/body join. Please help me identify my custom.
My cousin has the same type of thing. It is definitely an Ibanez neck, but in the body cavities the work is shite, eg. the wood hasn’t been sanded flat, there is splinters sticking out all over the place, etc. Any help for me or Brett?

Hey there Kip – I’ve got an antique white Ibanez CN 200 all original in A- to B+ condition. Serial No.H781347 The keys
have oxidized somewhat and the gold flying fingers pickup
covers are worn a bit but the body is in great shape and it plays well. There are no dings, belt scratches, or other
cosmetic flaws. I wasn’t sure if the violin finish you
mentioned was mandatory so I figured I’d write you anyway.

Im the proud owner of a 78 Ibanez Les paul, I aquired this secondhand, the previos owner (?) had very professionally had it painted gloss black, the underside is a reddish varnish finish with a white edged trim. Would anyone have any idea what the orinal finish’s Ibanez came out with, I don’t want to damage it by trying to strip the black off. Has anyone tried to replace the pickups and to what effect? Im thinking of trying a semour duncan ’59 in the bridge, Any suggestions other than that. Thanks
awesome find dude! i’ve been playing guitars
since 77. never knew the quality of these guitars
until last week one showed up at a local pawn shop.it’s a little beat up. i strung it up,put a input jack on it and the thing intonates better
than my gibson 93 les 3 pickup! i stripped a 5
paintjob 82 hamer special with no ill effects. it
sounds better too. i’ll never sell my 77 custom!

Me too! I have a 1985 Ibanez pro rocker but I cant find anywhere that sells those replacement parts.. a piece in my bridge has broken and i cant really do anything.
holy crap! I have the same exact identical problem.
I would love to find a pro rocker for my roadstar…but… can’t. They aren’t in production anymore to my knowledge.
The only way to get one is off another roadstar. I saw a used one at guitar center..but… come on. Pay $200…. for a pro rocker?
So I’m looking at other options.
But one of my "things" whatever they are called… broke off rendering the entire wammy useless.

I have an Ibanez roadstar series II from my father, early 80’s model and the bridge has a piece broken. It is a pro rocker bridge and I can’t find it anywhere. I need some help please. Thanx!
Just checking to see if there is anyone out there with one of the carved strat copies-Ibanez had Carl perkins promoting them and he owned two of the three models Ibanez produced-ya just don’t ever see ’em around- I may be interested in purchasing one for the right price-would at least like to know where these gutars are?
I have got one! It’s the version with the botanical figures. The other two had an eagle carving or a dragon carving. If you drop me your email adress I could send you some high grade pictures of my guitar. You can understand that I too am curious about the other 2 versions. I hope that one day I will be able to add them to my collection of 100 Ibanez guitars (all from the 70’s copy period).

Ibanez made these gibson copys until they were sued. You will see these listed as pre-lawsuit guitars. They were made in the early 70’s till about 1977.

It looks like a MANN, I had one once upon a time without the covered pickups. But the "MANN" had the same markings on the headstock! Any stamp under the neckplate? Hope this helps!

thank you
HI. I have a 76 Ibanez Les Paul and I want to find out what wood these were made of as I want to replace the pickups. I find with the stock PUs the top disappears when volume is reduced, also tone control only kicks in around 2 or 3 on knob. Want to find the best replacement for my purposes as the neck on this guitar is fabulous.

I have a black 70’s Ibanez Les Paul copy with pearl inlay on the body, head and neck. The inlay on the head is a challis. The head is uniquely carved with "swirls" as is the pickup guard. The pickups have "Ibanez" stamped in them. Sound familiar to anyone? Can you suggest the model name or number? Any idea of the value?

Hi, Don’t know if you’re still looking for an Ibanez Les Paul copy but if you are, I may be willing to sell my Black "Custom Agent" Les Paul copy with a set neck. This is an awesome guitar and I would never sell it except that I am in dire need of some $. I’ve owned this guitar since the early 80’s and it is in pretty decent shape and I’m pretty sure it’s all original with case. Let me know if you’re interested.
I’ve got a starburt Les Paul model purchased in 1973. Mint. MOP inlay w/black pick guard. I played accosutic my whole life and am finaly getting rid of it. If interested, shoot me an email ASAP.
Be safe… marl
I’ve got a starburt Les Paul model purchased new in 1973 (I believe – 2350cs) Mint condition… I played accosutic my whole life and am finaly getting rid of it. If I played it 5 times, I’d be surprised. If interested, shoot me an email as I will be taking it to a music store within next few days. It has abolone shell chalis on head-stock and vines on neck. One of a kind… very rare indeed, particularly in Mint. Comes with original case and additional 1974 Damarzio pickups.
Be safe… mark
P.S. Please list something about guitar in subject so I don’t think it’s spam.
Still looking for that guitar. I have one. It is in pristine condition. Black with MOP inlay on the neck and gold pickups. righteous guitar.
This popular thread has been given its own page : Re: * Wanted Ibanez Pre-lawsuit Les Paul…
I have a black w/aged white purfling Ibenez les paul copy originally purchased in 1971 in Kendallville IN. I am not that familiar with the pre-lawsuit thing. It has original gold hardware, double humbucker w/2volume 2tone controls with a three pos switch. Orig pickguard (forward screw hole area broken off, but still attached and holding), rectangular inlays on fretboard, with the 4 pc diamond with diagonal slash on headstock. (like Gibson, only other way?) Says "custom" on truss rod adjustment cover. Has original case, good condition, guitar in fair to good condition with corrosion on hardware, finish checking, belt scratching etc. Looks cool, as far as I can tell electronics work well. Interested? Haven’t set a price yet. Make a range offer. Can send pictures. Thanks!
I have a friend who owns a les paul from Feb 1977. if you give me your eMail address I’ll put you two in contact. he has fotos, etc.
I also have a ’77 PF200. Would be interested in another. I do not collect them, I play them! Pre or post, makes no difference to me. I’m not paying 4 digit prices just because it’s name brand…..
