Re: Fender Bullet

Bullets were entry level, student type guitars early eightees, only made for a cpule of years. Designed to be budget minded solid body guitars. These were made with various cut out desings A mint cond. would be worth maybe $400

Re: Fender Bullet

I bought a dirty, unfunctional Fender bullet in a pawn shop today for $60 U.S. I cleaned the input jack and got lucky- it works! Just finished cleaning it off good. It needs a new nut, one new tuner, one new bridge saddle bolt and spring and strings. It seems to have a nice tone, but i won't know how good it is till I get the parts and set it up. Seems promising. Any offers on it?

Re: Fender Bullet

woa youre shootin low.first of all this thing is made in asia(fenders are made in mexico squiers are made in asia).first of all this thing is NOT a very good guitar.they buzz and the stings break ALL THE TIME.if youre lookin for a cheapie id go for the squier affinity strat.much better quality guitar.

Re: Fender Bullet

You're wrong on that one. There are two versions of the fender bullet. One is one which is made currently. This is trash. Don't buy them, they're horrific. The other is a guitar which existed in the early eighties. These were much higher end. They were made by both fender and by squier. The design is very different with these. They have smaller bodies than normal strats and they have cable jacks directly on the pickguard (no special jack holes). These guitar are beginning to be recognized as quality instruments.

Re: Fender Bullet

I use a fender bullet and I love its sound it's very raw. I pick up mine in a second hand shop in Somerset, England I know nothing about them but they are 'budget guitars'.

Hi,

I have a bullet made in 1981,the first of the bullets, you can tell by looking at the head, if it says "made in usa" and has a serial # starting with numbers, its a genuine usa made bullet. If you have one of those, congratulations! It was made with old stock Fender parts; the neck is a 1966, 67, Telecaster and the mics are part tele (upper) and strat (lower).
I bought mine new in 1981 and i love that guitar!

Please keep in touch if you want to talk about fenders, i love those axes!

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks Tony.

Re: Fender Bullet

I bought a 1981 Fender bullet just for the neck. About a year ago I purchaced a 2004 fender tele body, coplete with all hardware, cheap off of ebay, and needed to find a neck. Everywhere I looked I was discovering that the bullet neck is the ideal telecastor neck, as I could not find one for under $400.00 US for just the neck...it was crazy. Then I came across a bullet with a good neck, with some nice flames in the wood grain, except the owner had butchered the body (think really bad green and beige camo-spray paint...probably tremclad, gross). So I was able to purchace the entire guitar for cheap, and I slapped the neck on my 2004 tele...frig, its beautiful!!! Such a nice neck!!

I guess the moral of the story is...You could get a pretty penny for just your bullet neck if you wanted...AND if you know anyone who wants a bad camo paint job bullet body w/hardware...let me know....OR just the hardware...its all in working condition...minus the neck of course ;)

rock on, etc etc...

I have a bullet neck on a telecaster body, but it just doesn't feel right. The neck is straight, but the heel of the neck seems to sit low in the pocket of the body.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

As far as I know all f model guitars were japanese made. F models were produced late 70s early 80s. In excellent condition they are worth $250 to $300 (cdn) tops.
The older ones were adjusted at the top of the head stock, the early 80s adjusted at the base of the neck.

SRV Strat Dating

I need help dating an SRV strat. The serial number has the SE9 + 5 digits listed. I researched the net and found that a signature series with this number should be a 1989 model but I am pretty sure that the SRV strats did not come out until a couple years later. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Late 60's early 70's music master

I have a music master that I am going to have to sacrifice. Does anyone know what a better than average one goes for on the vintage market? This one has a stainless steel pick-guard and is brown in color with a maple neck. Any input is extremely appreciated.

Re: Late 60's early 70's music master

I just bought a '61 at an average retail music store for $450--the finish is completely chewed here and there, but otherwise in good shape.

91' Silver Anniversary Tele (JAPAN)

anyone have any info on this guitar?!?!

fender mustang wanted

I want a blue or red fender mustang in good condition, preferably a sixties or seventies model, $200-$350, Please e-mail

50th Anniversary strats

I'm confused - I thought that Fenders 50th Anniv strats were produced in 1996 with only 1250 (ish?) made, all with sunburst finish, gold parts, 50 plate on neck bolts etc. My buddy has produced a cream one (no gold but with a metal 50th badge inset on back of headstock) and checking the US adverts ,lots of others appear in lists of all colours. Was there lots of colours or a second "less exclusive" run or am i just hopelessly confused ?
Tom

Re: 50th Anniversary strats

I happened to work at a Fender dealer in 1996. Here is the answer you seek:

There were 2500 50th Anniversary American Strats produced in 1996. They have the gold hardware you mentioned, etc., and are conspicuously numbered on the neckplate as "#### of 2500"; likewise, 1250 similar Teles were produced, numbered the same way. These are the "true" anniversary models.

Pratically every other guitar Fender produced in 1996, including Squiers, Standard Series, and Americans, displayed the metallic sticker commemorating Fender's 50th anniversary. There is nothing special about these guitars, other than the fact that they were made in 1996, the year that Fender turned 50.

Many people advertise "50th Anniversary Strat/Tele" on their guitars, but unless it is the American, gold hardware, numbered neckplate version, it "ain't the real deal". I know, I was lucky enough to find one, which is neatly tucked away until their 100th anniversary in 2046!

Take Care,

Andy

Re: 50th Anniversary strats

I also have one of the limited editions and it is still in mint condition, still has the plastic covering on the pickguard. Any idea what these are worth.
thanks

Re: 50th Anniversary strats

I can't really help you any, but I was wondering the same thing. I purchased an american made Strat on ebay. It has the 50th anniversary gold sticker on the back of the headstock, but everything else is absolutely normal. It has a sunburst finish and the serial number's first digits are N5 would this not mean it was made in '95 rather than '96. The sticker is in perfect condition, so I don't think any body peeled it off something and stuck it on there to make me pay more.

I know the 50th anniversary limited editions have gold parts. Were there 50th anniversary ones produced with nothing special, but a nifty sticker?

Jeff Beck Strat....pickups

I just bought a Beck Strat that I LOVE....one problem though...I'm not likin' the gold Lace Sensors......nice tone....just not enough output
for my liking...anyone out there own a JB, that could shed some light on this for me???...

Original Telecaster

Have an original Telecaster to sell, 1951 I believe is the year. Can anyone give me any idea of what it is worth?
