I have been looking for a website for Ventura. I presume the company no long exists. I would like to know when my Ventura was made and possibly an estimated price for it. Ventura V696. Thanks

I have the Same exact guitar. She plays like a dream still. My Great, Great grandmother bought it in her early 30's, so you can imagine how old she is. I'm looking too. If you get anything, drop me an email

Re: Ventura V696
Gentlemen,
What a guitar, huh? I guess my V696 was made in the 70's. I have two minor problems- the machine heads are probably full of lint and what not. Theh hitch a bit- I'll swap em out soon. Worse, tho, is the finish- it has clouded over in a few spots but feels ok if you rub your hand over it.
It is great, though, a great full bodied guitar. Lots of sound.
Their sturdy, but I doubt worth more than $2-300. Mine is worth far more to me sentimentally than anything else.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it is a Rosewood back and sides with a Cedar top, Rosewood neck and fret board. Rosewood nut and a plastic nut. (I filed it a little and it didn't smell like death)
Plastic binding all the way around.
Most of all I like how solid it is.
I'm thinking of adding a new guitar to the collection, and I bet I'll have to spend at least $500, and maybe $1200 to find a comparable instrument with all the same woods, etc.
Happy playing, let me know if you learn anything.
Matt
