Effects pedals
Does anybody know of a site that has descriptions and maybe some sounds of different effects pedals. Take for instance, i dont even know what a flanger does. Any help would be great.
Re: Effects pedals
Yeah there is a site called- Harmony cnetral.com and you click on effects- from there there should be a link labeled effects explained- that's the one you want- good luck-

fender hot rod deluxe vs. Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 401
ok heres the deal:
do i buy the fender hot rod deluxe or the Marsahl jcm 2000 401?
if any body has any info on these amps it will be greatly appreciated.
Re: fender hot rod deluxe vs. Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 401
First, what kind of guitar do you have? Second, what sound are you going for? Knowing the answers to these questions will greatly help you out. If you don't know what sound you want, try taking your guitar to a music store and play each amp (preferably side by side) and whichever you like best... buy it. I hope this helps.
HEY PHIL!
hey, u wanted to know my guitar and style: i have a ibanez GIO strat copy (cheap, but nice midrange) i like to play classic rock and some metallica. the rock is mostly led zeppelin, aerosmith kinda thing. with these in mind, do u think the fender hot rod deluxe or the marshal jcm 2000 dsl 401, will be better for me?
thanx
Re: HEY PHIL!
For that kind of tone I would go for the Marshall. It will give you the great beefy tone that Jimmy Page and Joe Perry use. Also, add some more gain and you can pull off the Hetfield and Hammet tones. But, since you have a Strat copy you won't get as much of the low-end growl that a Les Paul can produce. But, the Marshall will get you started in the right direction. Good luck, I hope this helps!!!

Cool stuff, but lots of probs with warmth,
you can cook an egg on it!
you distortion > a britisch one!
but fender > great clean
just try them and fall in love

what should I know to buy an accustic?
hi
I want to buy an accustic and don't know what I should know before I buy a new one.
where can I find a cheap site for buying that.
Is it good to buy it on-line or I (someone who know) must play with it before.??
please help and I really like to recive your mails in this case.
thanks
Re: what should I know to buy an accustic?
In answer to your first question, there is really nothing to "know" when buying an acoustic ( I assume it is your first guitar ).It's all about what you like and what feels good to you. Please DO NOT buy it on-line, play it first, play as many as you can. Don't let someone play it for you. What is good to them may not be good to you. Don't worry if you don't know how to play any chords, just start strumming. If it feels good to you and you like the tone of the guitar then that is the one for you. Also, try not to buy the cheapest one you find, buy a middle-of-the-road model (if you can). It will save you time and a lot of frustration down the road.Good luck, I hope this helps! If you have anymore questions, please ask!!!
Re: what should I know to buy an accustic?
See ANd ask if it works And check if theres a better price and don't buy it over the Net!!! NEEVVERR lol k okay talk to you later man Bye!!!

Tuning - as per the other answer. You might want to think a little about arranging the pairs, though. Traditionally, the thin string of each pair goes on top, so that you hit it first on a downstroke with a pick. If the thin string was underneath it would be in the shadow of the thicker string, and you wouldn't actually hit it. If you finger-pick, on the other hand (no pun intended!), you might decide that the above is fine for the bass E, A & D strings, but that for the G you want the thin string below the thicker string, so that you catch it with your finger on an upstroke motion. That's how I have mine strung, as I hardly ever play my 12 anything other than fingerstyle, even though I primarily use a pick for 6-strings, both acoustic and electric. Don't know why, really, but there you go. You might also want to think about open tunings, as they use a lot of open strings which allows a 12-string to really show itself off. I have my 12 tuned to open D and it sounds great.
Tremelo Bar
Just got a new electric guitar for Xmas & it has a tremelo bar but it doesn't seem to do anything. Anybody got any suggestions? I want to learn to play heavy metal & I need some effects!
Re: Tremelo Bar
Are you sure you are using it right? If you push it toward the body of the guitar it will work. But if you do everything right and it still doesn't work, take it back to where it was bought and tell the repair tech to fix it.
Re: Tremelo Bar
i only been playin electric guitar for a few weeks, i never picked one up before that, i just wondered what the "handle" near the volume and tone knobs was, i think its a tremelo bar, but im not sure. please tell me what it does and how to use, also any info u can give me would be MAJORLY helpful.
thanx Hinio.
Electric Guitar And Computer....HELP
Ok...
Here's my question :
Can u plug an electric guitar into a computer, if u dont have an amplifier.
And use the computers proccessor and speakers to get the sound !?!? I need to know....coz i dont have an amp.....cant find one.....and want to buy a guitar...
Just wonderin`....
Mail me if any1 knows the answer to this !!!
Re: Electric Guitar And Computer....HELP
Yes, you can. The only thing you'll have to do is to plug your guitar in the input of the sound card, your sound card may have two inputs. You can use both. After that you can use the controls of the sound card (or Windows) to graduate the volume (Start/Programs/Accessories/entertainment/Volume Control).

What's the difference between a wah-wah pad and a crybaby? and Could Someone tell me their opinion of a Crate GFX-15 amplifier?
Re: naked chicks
I've never heard of a wah-wah pad before? Do you mean a regular wah pedal? If you do, there is no difference. the Crybaby is just the name given to the Jim Dunlop wah pedals.

The naked chicks always leave before I get there.
Re: naked chicks
Cry Baby is just a brand name. A wah pedal does the same thing.
Re: naked chicks
who cares I want too talk too hot naked chicks
Re: naked chicks
The GFX 15 is a fine amp for in home use or very very light gigging. I enjoy the way mine sounds.
It is capable of very sought after tones from clean ot overdriven. Crate has a nice sounding
overdrive. Also, the effects sound good, too. It is a good value and I would recommend it
for low volume applications. If you would like to use it at shows you could mike it through
your mixer. I've done that and it sounds very good. Anyway it's a good amp and I like mine
very much. Hope this is helpful!!!!

Great little amp!
Bought mine used for a song. Good tone, TONS of distortion.

Steinberger replacement parts
Does anyone know where I can find replacement parts for a Steinberger GL2T? I'm looking for a different face plate (pickup configuration), as well as a TransTrem rebuild kit.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Steinberger replacement parts
Try Ed Roman's page. The guy is a bitch, but seems that he's got everything...
Please Help! I am confused about amps.
I am tryng to get the best amp for a takamine acoustic
electric guitar. Can somebody recommend one. What do you think of the Crate gx-30m? I am looking for a clean acoustic sound. Not electric sound. Also, want something small that will be easy to carry. Would appreciate the advice. Thanks!
Re: Please Help! I am confused about amps.
Take a look at the Fender Acoustasonic amps. They have a great tone, it really brings out the acoustic tones of your guitar. Or, for a little more money, try the Trace Elliott acoustic amps. They are small but boy, do they pack a punch. I hope this helps, good luck!!
Re: Please Help! I am confused about amps.
Take a look at a Rocktron Rampage, Rocktron makes some great equipment. www.rocktron.com
Re: Please Help! I am confused about amps.
Hit the music stores and pawn shops with your guitar and try the acoustic amps in your price range. After all it is the sound that counts. Pe@ce&Happy Jamm`in
Resonators
What is the best material for resonator guitar Nuts and bridges?
Whats the best way to raise the string height for cleaner slide playing?
What is the best string gauge?
Re: Resonators
1: The best nut material is bone (or mother of pearl), but there are perfectly good synthetic substitutes that you can't effectively tell from bone. The saddle on a resonator guitar is made of wood.
2: The best way to raise the string height is to have a repairman do it...preferably a little bit at both the nut and the saddle. It's good to set a happy medium on the height of the strings so you can still use it to play regular chords and lead figures now and then.
3: The best gauge string to use on any acoustic is the heaviest that you can stand...the heavier the string, the better the sound (unless you're talking about a vintage Martin or Gibson flattop...you should have these looked at to make sure you don't put such a heavy string on it that it injures the guitar), especially on a resonator guitar.

Trace Elliot Amps
How expensive are Trace Elliot Amps for acoustic guitars? Is there a site on the internet I can find the best prices? Thanks!
Re: Trace Elliot Amps

Re: Trace Elliot Amps
I believe they start at around $400-500. They are great amps. They really bring out the nice acoustic tones of your guitar. Take a look at musiciansfriend.com they have them.
