Re: MY FIRST TIME

: The more you play, the less your hand(s) will hurt. Your muscles aren't used to the motion of playing guitar. Just play more. Good luck

Jaterz - if you look at where this message came from, rather than the name Claire, you'll see that its the same dickhead with a serious sexual problem who was putting stupid messages on further down. He keeps changing his name to get on. Sad, really.

The Very Best Guitarist, better than George Gobel

That guy with the skeleton Tee shirt in Spinal Tap seems to know alot of good licks I think his name is
Nigel. He is very talented, I think Prince took lessons from him. There seems to be a similarity between Hell Hole and that Purple song. He plays a
Les Paul Flameboy?

1980 Gibson SG

Can anyone please help me - I need to find out the approx. value of this guitar. 1980 cream yellow SG, all original electronics and hard case, hardly ever played, near mint condition. Thanks...

: That's a tough question. Gibson really made some crap, starting in the '70's. But the SG is such an easy axe to make, maybe they didn't screw that one up. Have you played it? How do YOU like it? You can always change the pups.If the neck is STRAIGHT,if it's been played a LOT,it "might" be a decent value at $500.

Re: 1980 Gibson SG

this ecar guys is nuts even the crappy ones play very well i own a 1980 SG and i bought it for 900 and that was a bargan good price good luck

Tokai Guitar Registry

A site has been setup for Tokai guitar owners to add the details of their fine instruments to help shed light on what features were produced on what models during what years. There is little decent Tokai info on the Internet and subsequently a lot of people what to know how old their Tokai might be. The database is for old as well as new models so if you have one of these beauties then pay a visit and type your details in at... http://www.cullenracing.com/tokai/frameset.html

Re: Tokai Guitar Registry

Who wants a Tokai guitar. They are crap

Re: Tokai Guitar Registry

The Tokai Guitar Registry was setup for those who are interested in Tokai guitars and wish to know more about them. I won't even bother responding to your message about them being crap but please don't clog up the discussion list with worthless rubbish like your last message. Don't write a reply either because I won't be checking back.

help with tang on fretted notes

I have a ESP LTD MH-300 w/ a floyd rose licensed (obviously) and i just changed the strings. the tremolo angle is perfect. i don't have any twang or fret buzz when i play open strings. but when i play any fretted notes i get a twang/fret buzz. it was not like this before i changed the strings. is there any way to fix this without having high action? and why is the twang only on the fretted notes and not on open strings?
thanks

Re: help with tang on fretted notes

put some whizz on them theres plenty of tang in that cunt

Re: help with tang on fretted notes

Does it buzz the whole way along the fretboard, or on one particular place? On all strings? Are the strings you have installed the same gauge as before? Does the neck look straight, convex or concave as you look along it? Is it playing in tune along the whole neck?

Re: help with tang on fretted notes

If you've had the neck setup already, ask your guitar tech for a grind and polish on the frets. He'll file down the frets a little, even them out a bit.Thats if you're satisfide with your action.
Hope this helps

D-28 or HD-28 ?

I'm looking for a woody sounding guitar. Not Bright. And two I like a lot are the Martin D and HD-28's. Does anyone have an opinion on these two models?

Re: D-28 or HD-28 ?

They are both crap. Buy a real guitar

Re: D-28 or HD-28 ?

Both guitars are great. The HD has herringbone inlay. It is a more "fancy" guitar than the plain D-28. I have played several of each model. They all have sounded a little different. A D-28 at one store will sound different than a D-28 from another store.
I also recently played a new D-18V the "V" for vintage style X bracing. It sounded better than the HD-28 next to it. You will have to play a few to find one that has the sound your looking for. You should know it when you play it. )I own two Martins and they're both great.

Re: D-28 or HD-28 ?

Hi Jaterz, Thanks for the insight. I actually own the D-18V you mention. And I love it. The problem I'm trying to solve is this: I want a darker sounding guitar that isn't as airy and dry sounding as the mohogany guitar is.
There is some debate about the scalloped braces in the HD-28 creating overtones that are offensive to certain tastes. The D-28 crowd seems to think that the D's lack of overtones is better. (And sounds better in a group.)
I know I'm probably splitting hairs, but that's where I'm at.
