speaker system

I'm looking to build a speaker system to play my amp through. I was wondering what kind of speakers, what ratings, etc...

52 Gibson Les Paul

Who knows somebody who could estimate the value of a -52 Gibson Les Paul? It is a prototype, the pickups are -58 PAF:s and the top has been re-made by Nevalainen who makes and designs the ``Flying Finn`` -guitars. It used to be ``Gold Top`` when it belonged to Peter Green. As a straight up collectible, it's not worth much, as it's been modified. However, actual PAF humbuckers are worth a lot of money individually (somewhere around $500 each if I remember right), and if indeed the guitar was owned by Peter Green it could be worth a lot of money from the celebrity aspect. You'd have to have very good documentation to prove he owned it though.

It maybe belonged to Peter Green in the early 70s.. He used a Les Paul Goldtop (with P90s) when he played on B.B King's "In London"..
The other Fleetwood Mac guitarist, Danny Kirwan, used a Les Paul Goldtop more exclusive.. it's maybe his old?

i have a bass guitar with active pickups . when i play a fast song i tend to hit the strings rather hard. when i do this i get a rather large pop from the pickups. does anyone know a way to eliminate this to some degree

I've been using Line 6 for awhile and have grown to like them alot... and don't care what all the tube fanatics say... they sound great (I think), and are very versitle (I don't have to lug the effects board and other amps around anymore, just 1), but as always just try all you can and decide what suits you.

I have been playing for about one year and a half. i can play Paranoid (Black Sabbath) dream on (aerosmith) walk this way (aerosmith) moby dick (led zep) big balls ( ac/dc) all the way through, solos and all. I can also play the beginning licks to a thousand other songs.It's hard to figure out an entire song for me.other people can do it. I'm trying to learn Voodoo child and purple haze but something tough in the song stops me.what are some easy songs i can learn and do you have a solution to my problem.

Hi, i actually own one, and think its great. Mine came with Shadow P4 electronics which work great, and cost about $470 (Canadian). I think its a good deal....it plays really well, with great tone and volume....sounds and feels like a really nice guitar.

I'll tell you truthfully. I just got the Line 6 Spider and i absolutely fell in love with it. it's only 50 watts but if your in your room just messin around its a great amp for you. i had a Crate 2x12 Vintage Class tube amp and the Line 6 for the money was better for me. i play all sorts of stuff from metal to blues, so this is easy to work with. The crate did nothing for me. so get it if you havent already.

Hi,
I just bought a NEW line6 Flextone 1 on ebay for a grand total of $435 and I LOVE it!!! according to the people posting on the line6 page they are swapping out the speakers in the flex. 1 and 2's and replacing them with celestion vintage 30's I have my flex so I can hook up to a wide assortment of cabs I have a 4x12 Peavy cab loaded with celestions and I have a combo cab with no amp in it and I have Mojo tone speakers in that. Mojo Tone speakers are made by Kendrick amp. co. they are an EXACT copy of the old 60's Jensons found in old Fenders.. I hope this helps ya :-)

I have on it's the 210. I use all the settings except for the "Insane" setting. Well when I want some primal scream therapy I play with that setting. If you want a good variety of sound & tone, without tons of gear this amp rocks! I love mine, but it won't be my "Pride & Joy" amp, but I will never get rid of it. It all boils down to the fact that I can go and jam with tons of sounds and now carry tons of gear. Free Advice: GET ATLEAST THE 210, THE 112 SOUNDS BAD. 2 Speakers will make all the difference. I have had mine for 3 months I love it. Been playing for 7 years.

Hi, I've had my Spider 112 since Christmas and I haven't been able to get any of the settings to sound right exspecially to "insane", "retro", and "blues" setting. Does anyone out there have their settings sounding good? If so email me please.

Acoustic Control 150 Head

I found one of these really cheap recently, and it came with a matching 2x12 cabinet (I know Acoustic also made a 1x15 cab), a configuration which sounds fantastic as a bass rig. I'm not sure how much power it delivers, but I had a solid-state 2x10 Ampeg rated at 200W, and the Acoustic seems to be MUCH louder than the Ampeg was! You should be able to find a schematic pretty easy on the internet.

I have owned the acoustic 150 head for at least 12 years. It has never let me down. I am using a acoustic cabinet that houses 6-10" speakers in it. With this set up, I use a Rockman sustainor and chorus/delay units. The sound is incrediable. Very Very Loud. I would guess that the output is about 150 watts rms. If you need to really know, e-mail me and I'll look on the back side of it. I have the early model 150. Probably made in the late 60's.

D. H. Anderson Mad Cat guitar

I have a D. H. Anderson "Mad Cat" telecopy. Traded a power amp for it years ago. Saw Prince playing what might be one, but it might be a Hohner too. I have never seen another one, before or after. I like it, but I'd like to find one in better shape. Maple Veneers front & back are peeling. Anyone know the history on these guitars ?

I have a Mad Cat Bill Lawrence - with gold fittings. I believe, that its japanese, but very expensive in Jap.

A cheep substitute for MOP
