i got 6 pedals and im a beginner so whats the best order?
i got a IBANEZ CHORUS AND FLANGER, IBANEZ TRASHMETAL, IBANEZ CLASSIC METAL, IBANEZ ECHO MACHINE, IBANEZ PHASER,AND A PROEL WAH-WAH, SO HOW CAN I PUT THEM TO SOUND BETTER?WRITE PLEASE
Re: i got 6 pedals and im a beginner so whats the best order?
What kind of amp are you using? Does it have an effects loop? If it does, put your phaser and mayb e your chorus through the loop. There really is no rule about what order the pedals should go. The wah should be the first in line or else it will not be as effective. I would go: Guitar; wah; either distortion; echo; amp; then the other two in your loop. You may want to get an eq and put it at the end(after echo) to compensate signal lost. When you use many pedals, you will, lose some of your signal. What kind of guitar do you use?
Hope this helps!

Re: i got 6 pedals and im a beginner so whats the best order?
Definatly put the Wah-Wah first.2)Distortion.3)Phasor.
4)Flanger.5)Chrorus.6)Delay or Echo.7)Reverb.The order
on your pedals will change your sound. But it's usually best to have your delay last in the chain. It will delay
everything before it.Fuzz first,to fuzz everything after it.Don't be afraid to get ILL!!!
Good Luck
Re: i got 6 pedals and im a beginner so whats the best order?
About 25 years ago I had all of my pedals mounted in a box and patched togehter with short cables. One night in the middle of a set my guitar went dead. In quick desparation, I pulled my guitar cord out of the first pedal and plugged it straight into the front of my amp - this gave me an A/B comparison realtime, up loud in a gig situation. IT SOUNDED SO GOOD THAT I'VE NEVER PLUGGED MY GUITAR INTO ANYTHING BUT THE FRONT OF MY AMP SINCE!

Re: i got 6 pedals and im a beginner so whats the best order?
I hate to tell you, but for a beginner, that is too many pedals. They dont make you good.

Leave the wah out (it can be fun to just mess around with). Take all the others and put 'em in your closet. If your a beginner ditch the pedals and just work on your playing.

McCarty or Custom PRS?
I enjoy playing 70's rock (Zeppelin), as well as blues...and also have taken up playing Creed-type rock (you know, with drop D tuning ). Would you suggest a McCarty or a Custom PRS (22/24)? Thanks, Marco

Info on Orange and Matamp amps
Is there any websites or other resources to find out about these amps, where to find them different kinds, specs etc. I think I'm falling in love with the sound!
Re: Info on Orange and Matamp amps
Howdy,
www.orange-amps.com is the website for their current amps. Not much info can be found on their early stuff which is far superior.
Orange amps were an "up market" alternative to Marshall, similar to Hiwatt, and sold out of a store by the same name owned by Matthew Mathias and Cliff Cooper in the late 60's. Matamps were the same as Orange but marketed and sold in the north of Great Brittain. They are known for their use of top quality components and insane attention to detail. The first amps were the Graphic 80 and 120(my personal favs!). They did not have a master volume and came in head or combo versions. Later the Overdrive 120 was introduced. This had a master and is probably their most famous.(This was arguably the first amp with a master volume) They also has a 1x12 combo called a Hustler(40 watts), 2x12 combos based off the graphic and overdrive, 4x12 cabs, and a reverb unit. Orange also made pa gear and turntables. They went out of business in the late 70's.
In 1993 Gibson bought the Orange name and began producing amps. The models are similar but not as durable as the older stuff.Depending on where you live Orange amps are difficult to impossible to find. You can find some on the web but they go for around $1000 US dollars. I would suggest getting an older model. They sound better and are a little less expensive.
Hope this helps!

Metallica
Metallica kicks ass. Ya'll damn guitar players would bitch a fit if someone was giving away your music that you have worked your hole damn life for. So I say that if your were in Metallica's shoes you would do the same thing.
where to purchase TAYLOR guitars on-line/mailorder
Searching for a Taylor 810 or 810CE acoustic electric. Looking for sites to buy on-line or through mailorder. Need to do some serious price comparisons and beat the retail store tailhold! I found a few but not enough. Also found that there is a HUGE variance in price across locations. The best prices so far are at www.endroman.com
Suggestions welcome
Re: where to purchase TAYLOR guitars on-line/mailorder
Reconsider buying a high end guitar online or mail order. Every guitar plays and sounds a little different, even among the exact same model. I would pay extra to actually play the guitar I was going to buy. I know they offer to take it back if you don't like it, but who pays the shipping? Besides, you might have to play a few before deciding. Just a thought.
Re: where to purchase TAYLOR guitars on-line/mailorder
I work for Taylor. Theyre loc in El Cajon,CA I don't know any web sites but you can get a catalog free by asking at 1980 gillespie way el cajon ca 92020. They have some sweet new models out. The 500 series are amazing and sound just as good as ever. You pretty much can't go wrong w/ any of the models. There lowest line(the 300) will sound better than pretty much anything ele's. Just imagine what the limited edition and such sound like. Hope this helps a little.

Punk Distortion for Marshall jcm 900 - Need
I have a Marshall jcm 900 but don't have any pedals. Is there any settings I can set my amp to that will give me a good punk sound (NOFX, Lagwaggon, Rancid, etc.)?

Yeah, WIDE OPEN!
Re: Punk Distortion for Marshall jcm 900 - Need
JCM 2000 is better. I love JCM 900s, but JCM 2000s are just too cool. Dont get anything exept for the JCM 2000 TSL HEAD. If you don't have enough cash for that, the JCM 900 is a better way to go than the DSL. Another idea might be a Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier. Costs as much as TSL and it is better.
Re: Punk Distortion for Marshall jcm 900 - Need
you know, you should go to a pawn shop and throw down 25 to 50 bucks on a BOSS Heavey Metal pedal(its black and it rocks). It isn't that much, and if you want the distortion that fat mike and tim have, you need a pedal. Sorry, no work arounds.

Re: Punk Distortion for Marshall jcm 900 - Need
Ummm, yea..considering its one of the most popular amps in the punk scene, and no one really uses effect pedals. Try the presence around 3.5-4, low pretty much up all the way, mid half way, treble on about the same level as presence. Then set the gain up for the channel however you want to get the sound you want.
Re: Punk Distortion for Marshall jcm 900 - Need
what's better a Jcm 900 or jcm 2000, what has a warmer more distoted sound
Re: Punk Distortion for Marshall jcm 900 - Need
hey man. punk rock doesn't rely on a specific distortion. the jcm 900 head alone gives off the perfect sound...all you need to do is adjust the knobs appropriately. also, remember, all marshall products are best when they are blasted loud!! crank up the volume and you will be pleased!! don't be afraid to turn that knob up to "10"...even if your parents get mad!!
metallica sound
hai i have a jcm 900 and a boss ds-1 pedal but i can't find the right settings to get a real metallica (master of puppets) sound.
can you help me to find the right settings ?
Vintage Marshall
Hey, I was wondering if any of you guys could help me.
I am trying to find out the name ofa old Marshall amp.
It looks like a Super Lead Plexi head but, the Marshall logo is biger and the power and standby switches are more modern looking(you know Red and Green)I've looked all over and could not find the name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

ESP? String Gauge?
i got a ibanez rg serius, but i always feel that it's not good enought for kirt's solo...
and i really confuse of the string gauge that i should used. 10s is kinda hard for me to do those kirt's extremely fast and hard "bend" . ANy recomendation for guitar and a suitable string gauge to play kirt's solo? i know he uses 10s..
Re: ESP? String Gauge?
Ernie Ball makes a Hybrid Slinky set(10-42). Honestly,I'd would just get used to playing on 10's.They have much better tone.
Good Luck
