Lotus Guitar
I recently acquired an electric guitar with the name "Lotus" on the headstock and "Made in Korea" at the body/neck juncture. So far I have been unsuccessful in finding the manufacturer or distributor of this guitar. If you have any information in regards to my search I would be extremely grateful if you would e-mail me. Thanks.

block the floyd (rose of course)
Any ideas for blocking floyd rose?? I would really love to have an option to block and unblock it betwen playing, because i simply hate the intonation going to hell when playing chords (I have o.11 strings - quite fat for a rose).
anyway, keep playing...
Re: block the floyd (rose of course)
Hey man,
I don't understand why blocking your trem will affect intonation. My rose has 12-52's, and although I needed to steal an extra tremelo spring, and the neck is as tight as I dare to wind it, the intonation is spot on.
I would hazard a guess and say you should check the neck relief and string height, or take it to a specialist. I think you should still be able to work your trem with 11's, it just needs a proper set-up for them.
Hope I said something useful!
Re: block the floyd (rose of course)
Sorry, no answer here. I'm looking for similar info myself.
I'm totally irritated with my floyd. How can I keep other strings
from going flat when I bend? I was thinking of blocking
the pullback and making the springs super-tight, but that
seems extreme. I'm not a tremolo expert, but I know that
my old Kahler never had this problem. I don't see why
everyone says floyds are the best. Help me understand.
Thanks.

Equipment Advice
Hey, I am 15 years old and looking for a good guitar to start out with. I was looking at a Squier Standard Strat. It was recommended to me. Any help would be appreciated.

: Hey, I am 15 years old and looking for a good guitar to start out with. I was looking at a Squier Standard Strat. It was recommended to me. Any help would be appreciated.
It's not a bad axe to start with but it really depends on what you are planning on playing. Remember it only has single coil pick-ups and 21 frets. It has a really nice blues sound but not very crunchy for the heavy rock stuff. You may look into some second hand stuff for better price. You may be able to get something from Ibanez or Fernandez etc. But look for a heavier body for resonance a 22 to 24 fret neck and a double coil pick up for the hearvy rock stuff.
Re: Equipment Advice
Ibanez and ESP make some good guitars for beginners.
Brian is correct however.Strat style axes don't really
shred as well as humbucking axes. You have to push them
hard and the single coils are noisey. Also, I'd stay away from locking tremelos for now.Tuning can be very tricky. If it's crunch you want, then cruncher axe you should get.
Good Luck
Buying
I am looking for a 1954 Les Paul guitar. If anyone has this model please let me know with details.

PROBLEMS WITH A MESA TRIAXIS AND A ROCKTRON CHAMELEON
Hi friends!
I bought a mesa triaxis past two weeks and I'm also using a rocktron chamaleon that I owned before. I'm using the chamaleon with the effects loop of the triaxis and it really sound terrible! A friend told me that this mess was caused by the preamps of the chamaleon. Do someone knows if this is true, and also knows how to disactivate the preamps of the chamaleoon???!!
Thanks!!

Marshall VS100R?
I'm thinking about purchasing this amp... do you any you guys own the Marshall VS100R amp? If you do, how reliable is it? I've tested it out and I think it sounds great and packs enough power, but I'd like to know how it well it performs over time...I'd like to hear what you guys think it... any comments/reviews would greatly be appreciated....
Re: Marshall VS100R?
well it's a great amp!!
i own one as well, the VS100rh (stack version)
For blues it's not so great, but with it's 2 channel overdrive you can pull alot of heavey sound from it!!
conclusion: buy it!
Re: Marshall VS100R?
Is it loud enough? I've always thought that the Valvestates sound great but don't pack the 100w wallop of tubes.

It's plenty loud. I'm not so sure about the reliability though mine went out on me about 6 months ago and I still haven't got it working right yet. Sounds like it has a strange chorus effect going on or something

i've had the 100R for quite a while now, and i still love it. the effects you can get from it are excellent. overdr2 gives some cool distortion effects and it doesn't sound crappy, even at some high vol's.
its not too spendy but worth the spend.
take care

JCM 800 Advice
I use a JCM 800 50W combo. I play a contemporary strat with a double coil pick-up. I can't seem to get enough crunch even with the gain and volume cranked, and a Boss Super Overdrive pedal. Any advice would be welcome--effects, tubes, pick-ups, tune-ups, etc. I don't want to change the sound of my amp, just the gain.
Re: JCM 800 Advice
How many pre amp tubes in the combo? 3? or 5? or? When was the last time you changed the power tubes? I have a 2205 JCM 800 - For Power tubes I use the Tesla EL 34's For pre amp tubes - I get the MESA pre amp tubes- actuall ar Tesla 12ax7's- this combo makes my amp scream..Good luck- if the tubes are old- change em out- power and pre-
