I know a guy who has a Strat copy only under the brand (Tokai) He shares your oppinion!
The factory witch made Fender famous in the first place, is the same that produced Tokai! (You see, Fender is now produced in other places...

I am the proud owner of a battered but very good sounding Squier vintage '57 reissue stratocaster. When I bought it some ten years ago it was kind of olympic white, but I resprayed several times. I wonder if it's made in the same factory as the old Tokai and Fernandes guitars? Peter.

I am also looking for an acoustic bass. I got the bug by playing a Godin in a music store. It
sounded like a stand-up, It was fretless with flatwound strings.It had the pre-amp on board so
it had the battery. I think they call the most popular one a fishman pickup. Before shelling out for
the price they want, I'm checking out Martin, and Tacoma. Tacoma is a nice looking instrument
but I want to find the Martin before I make a decission. The only thing I didn't like about the
Tacoma was the size of the neck. It was a little wide. Let me know what you've come up with
maybe it will help my search.

i'm thinking about upgrading my tuners on my les paul. its a 98' standard
model, with grover(stock) tuners. what are the best tuners to replace these
with?

I have a V2 that I rebuilt. It was in a cardboard box in pieces. After a few hundred hours of work the amp is running again. I don't have the speaker cabinet but would like to find one. I have been told that the filter caps should be changed to singles with higher voltage ratings. This will prevent a fire that occours when the multi-stage caps explode from age and catch the cabinet on fire. This in turn can and has caused house fires. Have the old filters changed.

: I prefer Ernie Ball Super Slinkys but I tried a new "polyweb" coated string. $22.00 a set but they don't corrode as easily and maintain a good sound alot longer.

you need stringlife. check it out at www.stringlife.com.

This stuff REALLY works, and is MUCH better than coated strings.

I have a casino and if you want a guitar to play then I suggest you go ahead and buy one it has a thin neak whitch makes it easy to play rhythm guitar kinda tricky for lead cause the neak sits in far but it works just the same. If you want one to collect they have no real value except the beatles played them but I love mine its a graet guitars

: I have just bought a 1969 Epiphone/Gibson Casino. The dealer said that this is a transition guitar which has the Kalamazoo tag on the inside. The only thing that I question about this guitar is that it has a single ply black pickguard like a ES-330. Also the trussrod cover is a different shape. This guitar is finished in a very dark sunburst and is very cool lookin. It has nickel covered P90's a different kind of tuneamatic bridge and a nickel trapeze tailpiece. The tuners are very small kluson type. There is a decal on the back of the headstock that reads, Authorized Epiphone..Nippon Edition. So what is it? An imposter, or what?. This thing sounds so sweet and mellow. I haven't heard a sound like this in a very long time. It could just be the age of the guitar but it has lots of jazz tones. With the tone controls fully opened you can get more treble but by backing it off a little..it easily turns mellow. This guitar is in excellent shape, sounds better than the new Korean models. All the nickel parts are tarnished so it looks old but is not beat up. I am so lucky...go find another. I could care less about what John Lennon played..just my opinion.

First off, I LOVE the guitar as is, though I would agree that new tuners and Gibson P-90's would be a good idea.
Speaking of, are there tuners that will replace the stock ones without permanent mod?
I'd like to get the same style of tuners, just better
quakity ones.

i bought one 4 months ago what a guitar plays great sounds great finish great action fantastic i have a gibson es175 custom and a telecaster dont play them any more. caution the casinos dont all play the same or sound the same so try to find a store with a few to choose from.

There are a couple of user reviews on www.harmony-central.com . One is listed under 1151MS and one is under Pacifica 1511MS. I'm very imterested myself but like you I won't get the chance to actually play one. Hope this helps
