Re: guitars

I'm looking for a sardonix bass, does anyone know who they were made by or where to find one?

Re: guitars

Have you found what you are looking for?

Re: guitars

Yes, bitch, he found what he's looking for. I'll say you're about, ummmm, 7 years too late. I was right you are soooo hard up. Leaving text messages on his phone after he gave you your walking papers. So, maybe you need to take your own advice and kick rocks. Finish counseling with your "so-called" man. How many times does he have to tell you that he doesn't want your ass?! You were just a free romp in the backseat of your man's Caddy. Stop opening your legs to every Ni**a that wants some and maybe you'll have something special until then you'll never be happy, oh and I meant what I said in my last email so you've been warned. I know "D", yeah your husband. I was giving you a chance and you think you have problems in your marriage now. Oh, and what goes around does come around and you wonder why your man hasn't been faithful.

Re: guitars

The guitar is shaped like a half moon and has moons of mother of pearl that go up the neck from 1/4 to full.

: : I have a sardonix guitar all one piece made from graphite with metal bars on it that slides. Bill Lawrence pick ups? Can anyone give me more info on the guitar. How many of these things were made etc.and what it's worth now. Also a Kawai Half moon guitar

I used to have one of those back in the 70's. it was a large black hollow body with crome trim around the edges. way cool.

Diastone Guitars

Would anyone have any information on the Diastone company that produced Les Paul Custom clones?
I have what I think is a '76 Les Paul Custom. It feels and plays like the a real Gibson. I've had it for 15 years now.
Would love some feedback on this!!
Thanks

Re: Diastone Guitars

I have a model F-600 six string acoustic. I wish I knew more about guitars so I could explain it a little better... but it has a yellow (blonde?) coloured front with a black pick guard. The neck, sides and back are all a reddish wood, with an inverted V shape of the blonder wood going down from the neck on the back. There is a bit of white and green detail on the edges of the blonde wood. It's a little dinged up here and there, but I've been told it has a really nice sound buy a guitar conniseur or two...

I was just wondering if mine is supposed to be a copy of some other guitar... Is the V shape on the back a common thing?

I just came across a really nice Diastone Acoustic/Electric 6 string and have tried to find out more about it with no luck. Did you or anyone else out there know how to contact the makers of Diastone guitars? I am curious if it is a sought after collectible?

Here's something different,I have a Diastone 6 - string banjo (guitar banjo). I bought it new in 74. It sounds like a banjo but plays like a guitar. I have not seen another like it other than on the web by a company called Deering.
As for Diastone, it seems it fell off the face of the Earth

I have one of these banjos as well. Have you ever found out anything more about them???

Re: Diastone Guitars

I bought a new Diastone 12 string guitar in 1974 that sounds amazing and stays in tune. It looks like a Gibson copy and a music store suggested that the Diastone company was one of several companies that was politely asked (legally) to cease and desist making such good copies - this may or may not be true. It would be difficult now to find out what happened to them but they certainly made excellent guitars. The WT-65 model is a jumbo and much louder than my Taylor acoustic. I also have a Parker Nitefly - also excellent!

Re: Diastone Guitars

I've been trying to track this company down with no luck. I've got a diastone martin clone uke. It is an excellent instrument, right up there with the martin as far as material, construction and craftsmanship. I've asked many experts on and off the web and it has drawn a blank from everyone. Did you ever find anything out, Chris?
Thanks,
Al

I have a DiasTone Les Paul. I heard rumour Diastone guitars were made in the Ibanez factory. I dunno. My Diastone guitar plays great though. Like a real Les Paul, Cherry Sunburst, set through neck the works.

I'm thrilled that there is life for the Diastone guitars. The thing that I heard back in '86 was that the Company had gone belly up in the late 70's.
I'm pretty sure my LesPaul by Diastone is a '76.
I'd love to see pics of your Diastone's
take care

Re: Diastone Guitar

Guys!
I purchased an acoustic classical Diastone guitar with the hardshell case for 75 CAD. The model of it is TG - 300. The body top color is reddish and sides and back are dark wood.
The sound is OK. The frettboard somewhat slightly fingered out. It's in Ok shape. Any idea if it's worth the money, or more money? Appreciate for the feedback. Al

Diastone TG-300

Hello! I`ve got one of this make and model. I cant fullt read out the serial number dur to pool embellishing but I assume it should consist of 8 digits/maybe letters. SNo: (?)(9?)(8, 9or3)32168. I overtook it around 1985 when my older sister moved out, and she got it brandnew from our parentes I guess ~1975-1977. According to my father it was`nt the cheapest guitar in the shop. I appreciate this guitar more an more as a break from my more expensive Martin Western Guitar (steel strings) or my cheaper electric Arbiter SG 62-clone or just for chill playing on the couch. I think it has a nice ”Spanish” tone, but I dont recomend it for new beginners. There are easier and cheaper starters. I would guess a new price for similar guitar of same ”quality” $500-800 (2018) but I`m not an expert. I will not sell my precious guitar.

I put a similar mesage on a few years ago as I have a 12 string, too. They originated in Japan in the '70's but the company folded. Don't know why. Value, ? some have suggested a few hundred dollar, or around £120, but I think they are worth more. Their sound is terrific. My Daughter & Son-in-law are in Japan working. I might just send them a wee project and I'll post any info' I get on here.

I have a small acoustic model that my niece was going to yard sale. She gave it to me. It is stamped inside MODEL NO F-600. Japan. I read somewhere on the net a few years ago that this company made guitars for MARTIN many years ago during a labour strike by Martin. Anyone know anything about this?? It is a nice guitar and playable although the neck is slightly warped. The bridge has a crack that is starting to open so I will repair it soon. The body is in very good shape. Anyone wanting pics can Email me, but I probably wouldn`t sell. Thanks and everyone take care.

I bought my 12-string Diastone model WF-220 back in 1974. The retail price was $450, I think. I had tried every acoustic in the store that day and the Diastone sounded the best and played the easiest. It fit my hand like a glove. I've owned it 32 years now and it still looks like new. I have no intention of selling it, but I would like to know what it's worth. Any information would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Play on brothers and sisters...

Hi I own a Diastone guitar model TJ001. It was manufactured by Takamine. I've had it since 1969.

Re: Diastone Guitars

I hope folks are still following this thread. I have a Diastone Classical (TG-003S). I must have bought it at least 30 years ago. I was thinking of e-baying it since it gets no use these days which is a shame since its a beautiful piece of workmanship and has a beautiful rich tone. Any ideas what I should set as a reserve?

I just bought a diastone acoustic F-700, in pretty good condition(a couple of small paint blotches) at a garage sale. There is no information online about it. Does anyone out there know what it's worth, or where I can find any information about my purchase?
Thanks

Re: Diastone guitar

Hi, anyone--I have a Diastone WG065 accoustic guitar, and am trying to find any info. on it. There's a small label stuck to the back of the neck saying, "Made in Japan." That's all I know about it. Nice action, great resonance. Can anyone give me some idea of the present value of it? This one has red sides and back, and the front has a honey colour going into red on the edges. The soundhole has a 1" very fancy design around it, and the pick guard is VERY fancy, with red flowers, light grey-white leaves and green leaves, like a vine arrangement across the whole pick guard. The top of the guitar, where the pegs are, looks lika a Gibson in shape. I could forward digital photos if anyone wanted. The neck has inlaid mother-of-pearl. That's about it. Any idea on value? No cracks or damage, v. nice condition.

: : I know someone who is interested in purchasing a Diastone guitar. Please e-mail me with info on your guitar and a way to contact you. Thanks

: : : : : : I've been trying to track this company down with no luck. I've got a diastone martin clone uke. It is an excellent instrument, right up there with the martin as far as material, construction and craftsmanship. I've asked many experts on and off the web and it has drawn a blank from everyone. Did you ever find anything out, Chris?
: : : : : : Thanks,

: : : : : I'm thrilled that there is life for the Diastone guitars. The thing that I heard back in '86 was that the Company had gone belly up in the late 70's.
: : : : : I'm pretty sure my LesPaul by Diastone is a '76.
: : : : : I'd love to see pics of your Diastone's
: : : : : take care

: : : : I just put Diastone in, not believing anyone would be making enquiries about this guitar manufacturer. I have a DiastoneJumbo Acoustic Model No. W-20 purchased in 1976. Anyone else out there who can help or wants to purchase this Hi i have got a distone classical model #5dc958 it plays excellent and very fast and easy.

: I've got a Diastone acoustic six string that I bought back
: in '75. The model #is SF140. Its got rosewood back and
: sides, mahogany neck, rosewood bridge and fingerboard
: with spruce soundboard. It sounds better than any Martin
: I ever played. I might consider selling it. Michael

Re: Diastone Guitars

I too have a Diastone guitar. It is a 12 string acoustic and it has great sound. i have not been able to find any info at all about it. I know it is at least 30 years old but thats all the info that I have so you are not the only one who is in the dark on this subject.

Re: Diastone Guitars and ukuleles

I picked up a Diastone ukulele at a yard sale in Spring 08. Very nice little instrument; laminated mahogany top, back & sides. Straight neck, no serious damage aside from minor dings and bumps. Was originally going to use it as a wall ornament - I have several good ukes to play - but now think I might keep it for playing too. Would like to know more about the company if anyone can find out. Pics are on my forum at www.ianchadwick.com.
