Re: Diastone Guitars

Guess who just bought an old Diastone :-))
It looks like a Gibson Hummingbird sunburst jumbo but with a plain Martin style headstock.
It is a model TJ-001 and has a very warm, complex tone, sounding quite unlike all of my other acoustics (Takamine, Fender, Epiphone, Landola, Eko).
Interestingly, the interior label states "Hand crafted by Takamine".
As it is a fair age (1970's?) I got in touch with Takamine. They said that they don't have records from that era, but as they did make guitars for other companies it is almost certainly a genuine early Takamine.
Like all Diastone owners, I would really love to know something of the history of the company and my guitar in particular!
