Re: bc rich guitar

The pink ones I belive are made in March but would need a sn to verify, as to price it depends on the type of wood, normally you just scratch some paint off the back to identify the type.

What the notes of a standard guitar?

I'm a beginning student and I need to know them. I know the beginning line is E,A,D,G,B,E. What's the rest?

Re: What the notes of a standard guitar?

huh? every fret is a half step. so the E string would be

e f f# g g# a a# b c c# d e and such

notes be A-G w/some sharps n flats (depending how ya feel)

From Piano to Guitar

I have always wanted to play guitar, and I'm to the point I'm seriously thinking about buying one. I took eleven years of piano as a kid, and still play well enough to make a little extra money doing weddings and cocktail parties once in a while. Has anyone out there that previously played piano had much difficulty learning guitar? The very basics of reading music are similar, but the only similarity the instruments themselves have are that they've both got strings. Are lessons important, or can I probably teach myself with a good instruction book and regular practice? I know some people teach themselves successfully, but is this common, or the exception?

The transistion should not be too difficult. Your prior musical knowledge will definately be a plus. You can teach yourself with a guitar chord book and much, much practice... Good luck!!

Do yourself a favor and buy a fairly descent guitar. There is nothing more motivating than a quality instrument, and nothing more exasperating than a poor quality one..

Re: From Piano to Guitar

in order to develope good, functional tecnique you will probably need a teacher in the beginnig. After that it just takes lots of practice.

Re: From Piano to Guitar

even i used 2 play the keyboard (not the piano) then i picked up the guitar n learnt it myself grom an instruction book...learning anything is very simple..al u need to have is determination..good luck

Re: From Piano to Guitar

I've been taking piano for a few years and have now decided to take guitar. I've been taking it for a few months and actually have found having background in piano to make it easier to learn/understand how to play guitar. If you really enjoy piano, a 12-string acoustic guitar is the way to go. I have two Yamaha guitars, a six string acoustic and a 12-string acoustic. I've played both and really enjoy the 12 string better. It's a much more refined/pretty sound.

Boss GT-3

Hi
Can anyone tell me if the GT-3 is capable of creating the ‘slow attack’ (violin) type effect which is found on some of the Zoom effects units? I’m very interested in buying a GT-3 but can find no mention of this effect in any of the specifications.

Re: Boss GT-3

soma kind of fade in on every note? i made a patch like that, works best if you roll down guitar volume a bit, and you have to play with a subtle touch, but it's nice

BEST DISTORTION PEDAL?

I have a Boss SD-1 in my rig but need a distortion pedal to boost it for solos etc. What's the best?
(My amp is Vox AC30 ie. clean and loud)
Thanks
Jim

Re: BEST DISTORTION PEDAL?

Use a Boss DS1

Boss MT2 Metal Zone

MT2 MT2 MT2 MT2

Re: Boss MT2 Metal Zone

This is a good peadal, but not into a clean amp.

Re: BEST DISTORTION PEDAL?

Pedals suck get a PSA-1. Sansamp rule the world.

Re: BEST DISTORTION PEDAL?

overdrive is better for solos, overdrive is a combo of light distortion compression and sustain. you can even combine the two pedals as long as you get the leveling right, probably only a good idea for recording.

Help!!!! Anybody got any cool tricks with using a VIOLIN BOW on an ELECTRIC GUITAR

I am starting to believe that there are no interesting guitar players out there. Everyone is to busy learning new Creed and Blink 182 Riffs. Please! There has got to be someone out there.

Re: Help!!!! Anybody got any cool tricks with using a VIOLIN BOW on an ELECTRIC GUITAR

Everyone is always amazed when I lean my head back and swallow my violin bow (a-la-sword swallower), I just beat open chords w/lots-o-feedback while doing it, and for an encore I bend over... and you can guess the rest, this really gets the crowd going. I have never seen creed or blink but they sound like they have already latched on to my unique style and showmanship.

-Geee I am scared now... I will modify my travel plans to avoid your ip.
-Your post was senseless, so expect the replies to be the same.
-My ass is not little, it is nice and big, and loose... thanks to my trusty violin bow, and my ex-cellie bubba.

How is my post senseless? I already know every single generic guitar lick that you know. I was hoping that there was someone out there with a sense of style. Not a bad attitude. TEll me Who is your favourite band?

Yeah...Ya know who was great at that stuff was Roger Fisher (x-Heart lead guitarist) and Jimmy Page....either of which, would show the smart As_ posters a thing or two about experimental guitar work...Ya know the "open chord" tap and drag with a bow DOES WORK to great effect !just listen to either musicians work...

Re: encore fo machintos

Unfortuantely it is only for use on italian MACHINTOS machine in italy and cannot be used elsewhere in the world.

You are a lucky man to have such a fine program while the rest of the world has to suffer with protools and the likes.

Newly Invented Guitar would like your Opions

I have Invented a guitar that change bodys in 30 sec, changes strings in 2 min., changes pickup in 3 min., can change from fretted to fretless on the fly doing a song.

I have 2 prototypes, one Bass and one lead guitar.
the bass is setup to be 4 string, 5 string, and 8 string. the lead guitar is setup for 6 string, 6 string adrobo, and 12 string.

I have friends that say I should start making them for sale but I would like to hear that you think?

Re: Newly Invented Guitar would like your Opions

Why only a lead guitar ??? I already have a guitar that can change from lead to rythm in a flick of a switch, and a friend who changes strings for me, and if I yell at him really loud he can do it in under 2 min.
