How do you like the Boss Metal Zone or the Delay DD-5?

Re: EFFECTS

: How do you like the Boss Metal Zone or the Delay DD-5?

Re: EFFECTS

dd-5 is the shit......... don-t buy the dd-3
metal zone is allright

Re: EFFECTS

: How do you like the Boss Metal Zone or the Delay DD-5?

I don't know about the metal zone but I have a Boss bluesdriver and really like it. As for the delay, I tries out the boss delay but instead opted for the Dan-Echo delay. It was less money and gave me all I needed out of a delay. But its all really your personal preference.

Re: EFFECTS

The Metal Zone sucks...BIG TIME! Don't have the DD5,but
the DD3 is alright.Digital,but cool.

Re: EFFECTS

: How do you like the Boss Metal Zone or the Delay DD-5
As far as pedals go..check out the SansAmpGT2..can't be beat! Delays are a li'l more diffficult
I went with a rack mount Alesis midiverb4 for versatility. I imagine an old echoplex would be the best..
but I'm just going by what I've read there.

adding extra power tubes to my Marshall

I was wondering if I could get two more power tubes added to my 50 watt JCM 900 to boost it to 100 watts. It has the extra spaces so I would think its possible. And if possible how much might it cost, just a guestimate.

octave pedal not boss please!

hi im try/n to get adescent octave sound i use a tele and vox ac30 and boss is crap anyone know of anything better in a pedal form

Re: octave pedal not boss please!

You might want to try the danelectro (sp?) chilidog pedal. It's a lot cheaper than the boss pedal, and in my opinion works a lot better. The only problem is that the case is made of plastic.

Framus 12-string parts needed!!!

I bought a Framus 12-string sunburst dread in Italy, August 1968.
S/N 11564. It's been stored without strings and dry storage has
caused tuning-peg problems: One peg in the upper set is
now gone (the knob and gear are still there) and five of
the chrome peg bushings are missing. I need to replace
these and restore this nice old guitar. Any recommended
source for parts like this???

BLack SAbbath

Anyone know the Black Sabbath song 'Paranoid' enough to tell me the three last chords. If you listen to the song these three chords our not within the main rythm, theye are at the end of the song.

Re: BLack SAbbath

: Anyone know the Black Sabbath song 'Paranoid' enough to tell me the three last chords. If you listen to the song these three chords our not within the main rythm, theye are at the end of the song.

Yeah. they are the same as the rest of the song, based on G/D/E. However, Tony Iommi merely bends the low 'G' on the 6th string up a semitone, before ending on the E.

Hope that helps

Loosening Strings

Is there and validity in loosening classical guitar strings at the end of the playing day to prevent from stretching them out and then retunning each day?

Electric guitar with no pickup selector

I'd like to buy a Godin Radiator (with 2 single coil pick-ups), but it has no pick-up selector. What needs to do if I'd like to play rhythm and then change to play lead?

I am not familiar with this model, but there could be a few different things that can be used to switch pickups besides a switch. The pickuos could be on all the time and you would have an individual volume control for each. Or one of the knobs could be push/pull to activate the different pups. Email Godin and they will answer your question for you.

Re: Guitar rigs-what do you use

I use a

Squier Standard Strat (not affinity)
It's customized with Locking Tuners 5 tremelo springs so that the Guitar Bridge is flat like a hardtail.

I use a Boss Metal Zone and then I run it through a Peavey 150 watt Bass Combo amp. That's it simple I only use distortion. I do have a Boss Tuner, and Supressor but I never need to use them. In my band were very simple we feel like showing all those yuppie bands that 4 skinny kids from San Diego can kick ass without having six marshall cabs and a crap load of pedalboards.

Ah, yet more brave words from a spineless worm...

Re: Guitar rigs-what do you use

Well, considering that I'm a poor college kid, I've got a premier electric (no idea what model or anything...), a Peavy Rage amp, and I haven't gotten any pedals yet, but I'm planning on getting a Danelectro Grilled Cheese distortion and a Cry Baby Wah-Wah, once I get some money. I know it sucks, but it works for right now, and it'll get better once I start making more money.

hendrix tabs

Can someone tell where i can find tabs for vodoo child slight return that are accurate

Valley Arts Pickups

I just purchased a box of miscellaneous guitar parts that included
two complete sets of pickups (S-S-H) stamped "Valley Arts." On the
bottom of one set was a sticker that says "ceramic", on the other set it
says "synthetic." There are no other identifying marks on them, but
they look a lot like the EMG's that are in my California Pro. Anybody
have any idea what these are, who made them, etc?

Thanks in advance.

Bob
