Guitar purchased 2001 - rarely used, owner hospitalized for 18 months, now deceased. Trying to find the value of the instrument before going to dealer. Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Marshall amp buzzes loudly

We have a Marshall VS100 amp that occasionally buzzes loudly. If you give the amp a little slap it stops. While it is buzzing you can't hear anything else. I replaced the preamp tube but that did not take care of the problem. The circuit board looks ok too. Any ideas? Could it be the speaker causing it?

If its a 120 hz buzz, you have the classic symptom of a bad filter capacitor. Suspect the largest capacitor ( its a can) in the amp.

I own a 1980 Fender, The Strat w/ ash body and thinking about selling it. All original inc case except paint. I bought it that way.
If interested make offer or please advise actual worth. Nothing under $650.00 would interest me that's what I paid for it.

Help! I have been searching desperately for a Charvel Surfcaster HT for sale but have only been able to find Standards, 12 strings, and SC4s. I have been scourring eBay to no avail. I wish that Jackson had never stopped making the SC1, but I guess they thought that a guitar called "surf"caster should only be used for surf music. Have they forgotten that Scott Ian from Anthrax played one for a while? Or what about Tommy Victor from Prong?
Any information would be most appreciated.

Amp Volume

My 12 year old son needs to step up to a bigger amp. He's starting a band and his twin brother plays the drums. When they practice ( with two others) the drums blast the rest of the band away. We looked at a Line 6 spider II 112 and want to know if this amp has enough power (75 amps)to be heard.

JOE, i play mostly punk and hardcore and i use a grunge distortion pedal it is a good thing to have if your into playin punk rock. There are alot of different distortion pads out there just ask around and you can probably find 1 used for under $30.

1898 Gibson acoustic

I have a Gibson Acoustic guitar style L-1 serial number 38586 w/ patents of Feb. 1, 1898 and Mar. 30, 1906. I was wondering if anywould would have any idea how much it could be worth. It is in decent condition, still very much playable w/ proper restringing, though there is wearing on the neck from usage and some minor cracks. E-mail me if you would have any idea, thanks.

It's not a 1906 - probably 1917 or so, judging by the serial number. Unfortunately they're not worth much, $400 if it's pretty beaten up, maybe $900 if it's in good condition and you're lucky.

There is a pop up add for ever page you load. I can't beilive people still use it after seeing that. If the site hit volume goes down due to no use, advertisers will not want to advertise on the site as much, and hopefully it will get the message across that popups need to be stopped.

I agree with you... I got Popup stopper from one of the download boards for free and it works well...

use EMS Free Surfer popup blocker, it's free and no more of that popup SPAM

I have no preference whether people are male or female. I have not had any previous experience in a band that has actually played together. hey im considering getting a strat. i play with alot of distortion and the single coil bridge pickup feeds back bad! i know you can get single coil sized humbuckers but dont know whats best or how much they cost. please help me out. i dont want to try other guitars as i love the feel of a strat. thanks

Since I can't see the little rubber thing... It's probably the strap that goes across the neck pegs to hold the guitar in place....
