Kramer Guitars - d-tune

HI anyone out-there using a Kramer guitar with the tune down to D switch at the bridge on - are they any good? Do they work ? as l'm thinking of getting one

Re: Kramer Guitars - d-tune

:hipshot makes a detuner that you can use with floyd style trems its cheaper than buying a new guitar if you already have one with a floating trem.

Re: Kramer Guitars - d-tune

i got one on my kramer striker, but i took it off.in order for it to work the floyd must not be dipped back into the recess;it must be level.since i tighten the trem springs to keep it in tune if a string breaks while playing,i cannot use it.

Band in a box??

Is there anything made with several preset drum and bass patterns to play rhythm or lead guitar with keeping in mind I am an amature and know nothing about piano?

:Korg makes like 4 different beat boxes that give you everything(plus if you have more than one they link together and it just gets better after that). Also look for Boss, and there's even some cool stuff from yamaha.

marshall, mesa/boogie, fender

Hi, im looking to buy an amp. I play in a hard rock, progessive metal band and like to cover ac/dc, deep purple, metallica, and led zeppelin. I was looking at the Marshall 1959 SLP plexi, mesa/boogie triple rectifier solo head, and the fedner prosonic head. I want hard rock distortion (deep purplish), yet smooth metal sounds too. I also want that liquid solo sound ala Jimmy Page and Iron Maiden. Please help me pick an amp, or if u have anyother suggestions it would be a HUGE help. Thanks alot

ron

Re: marshall, mesa/boogie, fender

PS i also want sparkling clean tones (ala fender) i know im asking alot, and i dont have enough green to buy more than one amp, but there has to be one out there that will fit the bill so to speak
ron

Re: marshall, mesa/boogie, fender

you sound like you need a danelectro nifty fifty, it sounds pretty crap, but i bet you are crap !!!
love Bob

Re: marshall, mesa/boogie, fender

I put my money in marshall. the plexi is a beautiful amp but my choice is the JCM2000 Dual Super Lead. try one (the trick for a good clean sound is hit the crunch on the clean channel and turn the gain down to like 2).

Need some amp and effects advice

Hi I like to know what type of distortion pedals like creed and Godsmack play on. I lke to try to achive there sound. I also have a question about amps. Is it better to have a head and a cabinet or just a comb amp. I play alot of heavy metal.

WANTED: Geddy Lee Wanna'be

Neil Peart clone, and Alex Lifeson rip-off; seek Geddy Lee wanna'be for Rush cover project in Houston, Tx.
If you worship Rush, think Geddy Lee is the bassist to end all bassists, and would love to play Rush's music with a couple of other Rush freaks, now's your chance. Oh, yeah, if you're a pretty good bass player, and know the majority of their catalog, that would help too. But if you have some chops, and really love Rush's music, then we'd love to jam. Our original bass player got transferred out of state on his job, and now we're like Rush after Jeff Jones quit the band. (If you know who Jeff Jones is, then you're the guy for us!) If you just want to play the bass and jam, that's cool, but if you'd like to tackle the complete Geddy Lee performance, (vocals and keyboards), that would just thrill us to death. We've had offers to play live with a local group, but don't quite have our act together. Basically, we're a couple of married 30 somethings who don't get out much, and love to jam once or twice a week, and have been playing off and on since spring of 1999. We're looking for that third piece of the puzzle to push us to the next level. We don't claim to be great by any stetch of the imagination, but we sure have fun when we play together. We hope you'll feel the same way. Gainfully employed, responsible person preferred. Responsible, starving musician acceptable. (Just kidding) If you'd like to be Geddy to our Alex and Neil, or know someone who might in the Houston area, please, feel free to respond to this post immediately. Thanks, Lerxst2k.

i am giving up the guitar

it is too easy, i am sick of being so good and sick of all of you being beneath me (twitchdoctors mother included). It is time for a change. Actually, twitchy's mother said she had been playing the BLUE VEINED FLUTE for years, so i might give that a go, if i can find one. Love Bob

Bobs blue veined flute craze- the latest thing!

hey go for it bob! hope they have BLUE VEINED FLUTE discussion forums on the net for you to meet other like minded ex guitarists. bet they arnt as good as this place tho. G

Re: i am giving up the guitar,,, Take all the popups here w/u

Without U and the popups then this site should be usable

Bob is finaly admitting DEFEAT,

i can't believe this! our respected crap friend is turning from guitarist to blue veined flutist just because he thinks hes too good. Don't follow his trend.a guitar player can always improve no matter how good he is. and happy /crappy xmas to you all. G

Tab for Queen/ Knopfler

hey all. i can't find any Queen tab on the net. i try to play along to the songs and i can do some by ear but id like to have the tab...
also, to all Dire Straits/ Knopfler fans, where can i find tab for Golden Heart? many tab sites have all the blink 182 etc shit but no decent stuff.

Re: Tab for Queen/ Knopfler

I can tab out any Queen songs (well, all of the 3 greatest hits mainly) if you want. Tell me a few and I'll do them for you if you want.

Re: Tab for Queen/ Knopfler

thanks its ok i know how long it takes! i'm just into learning them by ear but can'twork out why there is no queen tab on net.
at the mo college studies prevail thus i'm inclined 6to take the easy way to learning songs, with tab. in christmas hols i'll get downto it.

tab again

yeah to the last question i wanna just download tab free, bloody sheet music is far too expensive these days and half of its wrong. so i just want the tab, no prices.
sheet music businesses are gonna go bust at this rate, most stuff is on the net and it will serve them right for being so damn expensive. its only paper. G

Re: tab again

its only paper from a tree !!!
it sounds like you want to save the planet, not, regarding tab and sheet music, i can read music but would rather work things out for myself. Try listening to the music, rather than analysing it, and one day you might not be as crap as you are now. love Bob

someone kill bob b4 i do

shut up you moron!! Most of my time is spend playing music eg satch by ear, i find difficult but not impossible. i'm now into playing queen and can play some of the stuff but i find that the tab can give me other perspectives on the music, like if i'm playing in the right position or not. Get back to your blue veined flute playing an shut up.

sandpaper...........;)

Re: How do I smooth the back of my guitar's neck??? Thanks!

start out with 800 grit. It'll go slow, but don't work too hard or fast or you'll burn the finish. finish with 1500 or 2000 grit wet sand paper take it easy and it should be good as new. if you want the detailed version e-mail me. pennywise6982@yahoo.com

ok well to save a user patch press the "write" button when everything is the way you like it. to restore everything to factory defaults: turn off the AX100G and simutaneously press the "prog/fx select" and "exit" buttons then plug the power back in while still holding the buttons and it will ask if you want to erase all user made programs and return to defaults
by asking "reload?" press the "write" button and it will begin, when it is done erasing its memory it will say "complt"

hope I helped if you need anything else about the AX100G email me at ben_rpg@hotmail.com and I will email you directions and tips right from my manual.

anyone else have a ZAKK WYLDE LES PAUL?

just got one and was wondering why the hell it's so hard to keep in tune.........never had a les paul-by the way....

Re: anyone else have a ZAKK WYLDE LES PAUL?

DOES IT HAVE THE VINTAGE KLUSON TUNERS ?, MY LES PAUL STANDARD DID, AND USED TO GO OUT OF TUNE QUITE A LOT (WITH BIG BENDS) BUT I HAVE HEARD OF A LOT OF PEOPLE (OVER HERE IN THE NORTH EAST OF ENGLAND ) THAT HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBS WITH THEIR LES PAULS

Re: anyone else have a ZAKK WYLDE LES PAUL?

I don't have a Zakk Wylde Paul, but I have played set neck guitars that have "rubber" neck...this is to say that you bend a note and the other strings loose tension/pitch...try this pick you 6th string and let it ring, then bend your 3rd string, say at the 12th fret...bend it up a whole note...if the pitch of your 6th string changes, then you may have either a "rubber" neck, a bad joint where the neck is fastened to the body, or tuners that don't hold up under stress...good luck!

Re: anyone else have a ZAKK WYLDE LES PAUL?

no-it has grover tuners

Re: anyone else have a ZAKK WYLDE LES PAUL?

Hey Bro, Don't wory about what all of these other fellows are saying about your AXE. The Zakk Wylde Les Paul is AWESOME, and so are ALL other Gibson Les Pauls. So, minding that, there is probally NOTHING WRONG with your actual guitar, especially if it is new, Gibson does not sell CRAP!!! I would suggest checking your stringing job, if it is a poorly strung guitar, it will stay out of tune. When changing your strings, wrap VERY tight, and the less amount of wraps that you can get, the better it will stay in tune. ALSO, strings bend a HELL OF A LOT, just on their own, so make sure all of the strings are "broken in". Hope this helps, and don't lose faith in the GUITAR, it's AWESOME!!!

Re: anyone else have a ZAKK WYLDE LES PAUL?

cool,man......

Re: anyone else have a ZAKK WYLDE LES PAUL?

have someone that really knows there shit check your nut to make sure your strings aren't binding. see if you can't throw a set of sperzel locking tuners on it (you may have to enlarge the holes). And if all else fails it's got a lifetime guarantee on it and Gibson will stand by it, give them a call.

Re: anyone else have a ZAKK WYLDE LES PAUL?

cool

Steve Miller "Jungle Love" tabs

IF anyone knows the tabs to this song or cann at least give me a place to start I would would greatly appreciate it. thanks.
